A non-profit voluntary organization, MIRAM for supporting peace and women’s development was established, to discuss women’s issues in war and achieve peace and development, and to work to advocate for women who are survivors and fleeing the scourge of war and those residing in conflict areas by protecting and supporting them to overcome and transcend those difficult stages.

  • Supporting and empowering refugee women in the countries to which they have sought refuge
  • Awareness and educational work on women’s rights and human rights issues in order to enhance their societal opportunities
  • Enhancing the participation of women, especially displaced women and refugees, in political decision-making areas

Our History

MIRAM provides the necessary assistance to advocate for refugee women by addressing and working on their issues across East African countries.

2024

On issues of peace, the MIRAM Group carries and adopts the principles and visions in working to achieve lasting peace & partnerships, and promote the role of actors in voluntary work to pave the way for the achievement of security, peace, democracy, and social justice, and to establish a culture of peaceful coexistence among societies.
